NyQuil, Please! I can explain!

First off, your kindness overwhelms me. Your desire to serve, please, and honor me when night falls…well, that’s just dear, and meaningful. I think…..I love you. Oh! I hope we don’t get all uncomfortable now. I really need you. And I hate being needy and clingy. PLEASE! Stay with me (just for tonight).
Please?

I promise to uphold my end of the deal.

When I see this face – I swear – no matter how cute, I will not cuddle with her when she has a cold. I won’t sit close enough for her fingers to reach my mouth, nor her wet coughs to spray on me.

Come on, Ny! It’s hard to resist. I am giving up a lot for you. This relationship means something to me. Something really special or I wouldn’t even bother.

I swear, even when her nose is running, temperature spiking, and cough hacking. I will resist the urge to hug her close and get her germs. I won’t have those pudgy arms around my neck. I won’t pick her up at her pleading request. I won’t.

Especially after she runs a fever off and on all weekend. Feeling puny, and even throwing up. I won’t kiss her. Laws no! I won’t. Because I know that would make me sick, and compromise our relationship. Seriously? That cuteness. No power. I am mighty.

But maybe that’s what you want. Maybe, that’s how you keep me near you. I am so confused. Could you be trying to keep us together, when I really need to go my own way?

Just please NyQuil do your thing. So I can go to work tomorrow, instead of sitting here like this.

Love me,
Your faithful friend, the head cold.

P.S. Please don’t be jealous of macho Mucinex D tomorrow. It’s strictly a fling! I’m totally using him.

  1. You sick? Is that what I’m seeing here? Oh, gosh. You made it through all that really cold weather and now you’re sick. I’m so sorry. I hate it when my head gets all icky and plugged up.

Those are beautiful pictures of …oh, gosh. I’ve forgotten her name. It’ll come to me as soon as I click on the ‘submit comment’ button.
Get better, dear friend. Tea. That’s what you need. Hot tea with honey. You can even put a little Nyquil in it. REally.

You are so funny! I used to get all the colds of the little ones until I started taking colloidal silver. It acts as a second immune system. They all got the flu, but not me. It has served me well this past year! Hope you get to snuggles with your little sugar muffin soon!

  3. I hope you feel better soon! I’m getting a cold now too after about five days of my son hacking up a lung RIGHT in my face. I swear he would lean in closer for every cough, just to make sure that I got the full exposure that I deserved!

    Thanks for stopping by yesterday!!

  4. Weezer-Yeah, just my luck when the temps get nice, THEN I come down with a nice cold. I am just glad Bridget is all better. 🙂

Heather-I LOVES me some NyQuil to cuddle up with at night. 🙂 Are you telling me you don’t have “affairs” with cold medicines? Lol.

Lita-I was under the influence writing this post. Maybe, hydrotherapy wouldn’t make me so loopy. 🙂

Suzicate-Just reading your comment, I feel like I just struck the motherlode of secret tips. Since you run a germy daycare of snuggle bunnies, I am definitely taking your advice!

Deiala-I’m a pretty happy cold bum. I think it’s from the alcohol in the medicine. Hick! Thanks I will!

The Mommyologist-Exactly! My worst exposure was when she hacked wetly into her hands that covered her mouth then decided out of the blue to stick her FINGERS on my LIPS. WTH????? Thanks kid! (loveyoumeanit!) Hope you recover quickly!

    Your daughter is absolutely adorable.
And isn’t Mucinex the best thing EVER? My fiancé had a terrible chest cold and I got some for him. He had never tried it before. You would have thought I had presented him with the Meaning of Life he was so ecstatic over it.

  7. Peggy-Somehow I feel like it’d take a Yogi to use that right…..at least knowing my klutzo self. 🙂

Cristina-Oh yeah? Well, just check yo self. I think he was in bed last night and he is begging for tonight. Really, it’s embarrassing! Lol. Thanks girl!

Foxy-Yeah the niceties stink! I’d much rather drop kick them into a cabinet far, far away. 😀

Jean-He has all the right moves at night. Swanky dude.

Kristen-Mucinex, I call him NEX for short. Siiiiighhhhh, he’s got this “thing” he does. Oh my! I don’t know if I can give him up. Would it ruin my rep if I two-time? Ny doesn’t have to know. LOL.

Salt-Thank you! This is my youngest future step daughter Bridget. She is three and pretty much rules my heart and soul. Her powers are beyond this realm. I can’t resist her and will do whatever she says.
🙂 Yes! I feel like that about my new friend NEX. He is amazing!!! I know everything now. It’s beautiful. Life sweet life!

LOL 🙂 Try to lose your “friend” and get into “healthier” remedies…like tea with a bit of honey! LOL 🙂 Feel better soon! I LOVE your photos! Tooo cute!

  10. During heating weather (you know, when the furnace is necessary) I sleep almost every night with a vaporizer on. The air gets so dry and it’s hard to keep those nose-holes moist. Plus I love the smell of Vicks.

I hope this evening is finding you feeling some better. After all, the weekend’s coming.

  11. Too funny Angelia. Leave it to you to joke yourself through an illness. Speaking of which, you have been really slammed in the health department lately! I hope you feel better soon.

And I can totally relate. I can never resist the kids even when they’re sick. And they really are walking germ farms. Gotta love ’em!

  12. Luisa-I ditched NyQuil last night. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. I can’t say I won’t have a lunch date with Nex though. All in all, I think I am LOADS better!
    Thank you!

Steph-Well, hopefully you don’t get too many and aren’t around cute little germy kids. 😀 If you see a dude with a cold, I know you’ll run away not to, at least I hope. 😀

LeAnna-It’s soooooo hard. Just look at that face! Hope today is better for you! It’s Friday!

Stefanie-Yeah, the hangover bites. I get that with Benadryl, but it’s not as bad with NyQuil. The Mucinex seems to have a perk ability to it! Thanks for coming by!

Mindy-I knew it! You were just too satisfied not to be. 😀 Two years! That is something!

Sarah-Yes it is! I usually can’t take it more than one or two nights because then it starts keeping me awake. Weird I know! My body is like alcohol! Party! LOL. Great to see you!

Peg-I died laughing when I read your comment. How true!!!

Weezer-Crazy as this sounds, I sleep with two fans on. Always. Ceiling fan and a face fan. Now granted in the winter, I may turn the face fan and it doesn’t directly hit me. It’s the sound I guess. Rarely do I use a humidifier. I should probably try it!

Carolyn-I know, right? It’s okay. As I was telling Jason, I am a happy sick person. I’ll get well (be well), there’s no need to be upset over it. They will work the Thyroid thing out. I’m in good hands. 🙂

JDaniel4-Thank you! I feel MUCH better today.

Jaymie-I think you have the right idea there. Neither is worthy. I have a feeling they don’t want me to feel my best. Losers! I’ll show them!

Clairity-Yes, that’s it. I knew she was sick, but I just couldn’t resist. Was it worth it? YES!

  13. Tess!!!-Hey lady! I should have used more antibacterial gel. 🙂 Might have to check this netty lady out. 🙂

Debbie-Hot indeed! I am crushing on this fella.

Shannon-Luckily the little ones are with their mom full time. My job was easy since my daughter is 15. I’m just hoping SHE doesn’t get it. That virtual soup was DELISH!!
