This week The SITS girls asks you to get back to blogging. You can read all about it here. The first task is to re-publish your first blog post ever.
Here is mine.
Hello World!
Have you ever heard the shortest horror story in the world? No? Well it’s so short I guess I can share. Here goes:
The last person in the world heard a knock at the door.
Scary huh? Haha. Sums up how I feel about starting to blog! (wink)
The horror begins…….
********
I’m not kidding. That was it. As you can see, I am a little? a lot intimidated by the big scary world of blogging. I am not sure if I thought I was going to get graded, or maybe, the youtube people would come out of the cracks and start ripping my post. Get kicked off wordpress? It’s funny to look back and see how fearful I was. I am glad I gave it a go and stuck it out, instead of running for the hills.
What would I change?
Well, I would have deleted that first Hello World! post since it was just a starter post that wordpress gives you as an example. I would have deleted my self-consciousness while I was at it.
It is good to see how far I’ve come.
This event is being sponsored for a chance to win Thelma and Louise. Imagine the curtain being drawn, and there stands Bob Barker with his skinny mic announcing like he did on, The Price is Right, “A NEW washer and dryer!” Cue the music…dun dun dun…..duuuun duuuuun…..dun, dun, dun.
It is very generous of them to do such a big giveaway. Be sure and visit Standards of Excellence, Westar Kitchen and Bath, Florida Builder Appliances. All links open a new window.
Blogging…this is a crazy world! Let’s see if I can keep up with the five day jump-start, plus waiting til the last minute wedding planning, and also working forty plus hours a week in the emergency services department at work.
I think we all were a little intimidated when we first started blogging! I had NO clue what i was doing!
Stopping by from SITS!

Very interesting idea to go back and see how we first began. Love seeing how far weve grown since that first fateful day when we said..okay lets do this!
Love that scary story!

Heather-It’s actually titled the shortest horror story in the world. HA. Yes, so glad I’m not a blog newbie anymore. 🙂

Oh–this looks like a lot of fun, I’ll have to check that out.
It does come as a surprise to me that you were fearful to begin with–you certainly have come a LONG way. I’m glad you ‘gave it a go and stuck it out,’ too–look what we all would have missed if you hadn’t.
I’m wondering if your fabulous photography is also a result of your blogging endeavours, at least in part.
Thanks for sharing the nostalgia, and also the opportunity to be a part of it.

The contest is open to US residents only, but I think the rest of us can still benefit from looking back over our blogs and seeing how far we’ve come. 🙂

Heather-I definitely think you could still benefit. It’s great to look back and see how far we have come. I really didn’t realize how powerful it would be and touching (for me).
My photography is absolutely from the blog. I kept seeing amazing pictures and wanted a DSLR badly. I got my wish (and dream) in January 2010 and you’ve see the results. Truly ignited a love coiled deep inside. I can’t wait to look back on a year of photography!

I swear I am more intuitive than I give myself credit for. I was just thinking the other day of re-posting my very first blog, as a way to see how far I have come and where my mindset was at just a few short years ago. Hopefully, I’ve evolved into a wiser person and better blogger in spite of it.
Then, if the laws of attraction just keep getting tossed my way, I kept seeing and wondering where these SITS girls emails have been popping up once a month in my email. Now I know how I must have made my way there and signed up for their email. It was driving me crazy. Thanks Angelia for answering that mind boggling question! Now I have an even better reason for visiting both.
You rock!

I still don’t know what I’m doing blogging, except I have met some exceptional people whom I have grown to admire and love.
I just got a new dishwasher, but I could use a new washer and dryer as well!

Judie– It really is about community and reaching out in it. I have certainly come to admire that aspect as well.
I am going to have to check out this new dishwasher! I bet it has a name too. 🙂

I am pretty sure my “first post” was just me typing up a few words and hitting post, just to see if I actually knew how to do it. I don’t really count that one! My second post was the one where I actually wrote something worth reading. Now I am going to have to go back and see what my true first post actually says.

Bethany– See, that is why I didn’t want to say this one was my first, but since it was, I posted it. Ha.
I’d be interested in what you started with. 🙂

That’s a pretty funny joke though – I love how most of us stick our toe in the water and then become utterly obsessed. This is interesting – I should see what mine was… I think you’ve done a fabulous job expanding on your talent and sharing with the world your joy of writing!
