At least for me anyway, and I know – I know! – some of you can live without it. In fact, you don’t even like chocolate. Oh, I don’t understand you – at all. But to each his own.
As Jason and Sydney took the girls home, I gave in to the pounding in my head. I gave in to the fact – the medicines that got me through the day – were no longer my friends. Admitting what was held at bay was mighty ugly. Much uglier than I thought. I gave up and stopped calling it “allergies” or “trip lag”. The tightness in my chest, the rasp in my voice, the deep rumbling cough, and the gunk in my head. Ugghhhh…..I felt bad. Real bad.
I admitted it. I have a cold. A nasty one.
And on their way home, Jason text me he was going by Wal-Mart and did I need anything? Did I ever? I needed an end-all be-all cure for the head, chest stuffiness of winter, of travel, and of no rest.
So I told him…….something to make me feel better. A cupcake? lol.
I was half-joking, but I knew he would know. Wouldn’t he?
I uploaded the photographs I took this evening for my 365 project. I took them of the girls playing with Sydney and I got a few poses in front of my studio lights I got for Christmas.
I did a little editing and really liked how this one of Bridget turned out. She is growing so fast. Oh, she steals my heart!
I never imagined it would be so hard to pick ONE photo per day, but it is. It really is…guess it’s a good thing I have many days left in this year’s project. I wonder if it will ever get boring? I am fascinated by this photo diary of life – fascinated.
Jason came home with his hand behind his back. A little smile. A little laugh. I felt my heart jump. There, there in his hand….
Chocolate, sweet chocolate.
It was as good as I thought it would be, every morsel, every chocolate-y goodness of every bite (yes, every one). I even managed to pick the coconut piece last. Score!
And you know what?
I feel better. I really do. Like I just ate a steaming hot bowl of home-made chicken noodle soup.
Chocolate – ahhhh!
Wonder how long before I need my next dose?
P.S.- Lovelovelove the caption entries. Soooo funny! I am so glad I picked Jason as the judge because I could not do it. I will announce the winner on Friday. It’s not to late to get yours in. Just see the below post and comment.

Now, make yourself some hot chocolate, put on the movie “Chocolat” with Johnny Depp, break out the chocolate scented bubble bath….and RELAX!
Now that’s a great (& smart!) hubby.
My hubby works evenings and will be heading home soon, with chocolate in tow for me. It’s my time of the month and I texted him my request. LOL
I hope you feel better soon!

There’s no better medicine than chocolate. Bad mood – chocolate, cold feet – hot chocolate, long workday – chocolate. It’s the best antidote for everything!
Anjoy your chocolate and get well soon!
Chocolate is a wonderful medicine to take…I crave it but can only eat the best organic chocolate otherwise it makes me even more unwell with migraines. Funny how I never gave it up, I just kept trying until I found a way to indulge my yummy passion! Your little step daughter is a beauty, that’s for sure 🙂
Funny that, I always feel ill when I’m chocolate deprived too…
Enjoy the journey.
Don’t you just love a man who know and fills our every desire. It’s the little surprises like that, that make me love my TZ even more. Sometimes, when I see him washing the dishes or folding a load of laundry I can barely contain myself!
You are a wonderful photographer. It helps that your models are more scrumptious than chocolate!
I’ve got an award for you on my blog.
Chocalte usually does the trick for me too! Good hubby of yours! Mine would’ve probably denied me that request :o/
Chocolate is the best. Though my 4 year old doesn’t like it. Weirdo. Love that shot of your step daughter….OH OH OH, and the one on top with the train tracks! Awesome.
Lots of yummy love,
Alex aka Ma What’s For Dinner
She is beautiful. Really. 🙂
I’m so glad you’re feeling better! Hope you continue to feel better until you’re totally well! 🙂
Yes get well soon and your hubby is very wise.
I think being in a heart shaped box makes chocolate taste even better.
PS I am dropping all my e-mail blog subscriptions but I am still following you in my Google reader. My e-mail has gotten overflowing. XD
Chocolate will cure the world one day…
i think chocolate makes everything better too. i love it in any form solid, liquid, baked good…
enjoying my visit to your blog. glad i found you!
I came here from Mandy’s site and I’m glad I did. I was feeling kind of low, but you reminded of the perfect solution. I have an emergency supply kit in my fridge, which contains different foods that will both last and make me feel better. I keep Hersey’s kisses with almonds in the kit and after reading this post, I’m declaring an emergency and hitting my kit.
I read someplace that chocolate actually gives you a physical lift…I mean it does something in your brain to make you feel happier. Good thing because I can always use another excuse to enjoy some more chocolate.
I like your site and your photography is amazing. Good luck on your 365 day project:~)
Bridget is such a precious little girl.
Chocolate makes all things better 🙂
Chocolate makes me feel better too! (that’s a great picture of your step-daughter!)
aaahhh! What a nice guy!! You are doing a great job with your photos 🙂
Oh my – you would think I would learn my lesson with word press – LOL!! There I went again with posting on my DH account 🙂 (That was me above)
Buttah makes everything bettah, not chocolate. 🙂
Bridget does look like a little lady in that shot. Gorgeous.
I hope you are feeling better, I mean less sick. (WHHHOOOOOOOSH! Healing thoughts sent your way!)
Chocolate cures almost anything! And a man who buys chocolate for his woman is definitely a keeper!!!!!!!!!!
What is it about chocolate?
I’ve just written a post called Chocolat, which is and isn’t about chocolate.
Love to know what you think about it.
Everyone is writing about chocolate!
Obviously Great minds think alike. LOL
BTW – is this the 2010 theme?
