It’s here! (well, almost)
The weather map at current posting time shows the beginning nibbles of a HONGRY snow! It’s coming to storm your town and make history!
Like our Snowpocalypse last year, remember that?
I think there will be records that eat that one for breakfast, right Chicago?
Anyway, I have properly stocked up on Chocolate Cherrios, Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies, and those mini chocolate donuts (don’t judge).
I eagerly watch the temperature thermometer like a TJ Maxx opening day sale. Drop, drop, drop.
It’s not just for a snow day…..really! I want it to freeze BEFORE I go to work. I do not want my “fiction” story to be based on actual events.
It’s all highway bridges through downtown Fort Worth, and no…….the sand truck won’t help. See they misjudge here, they are not sand/salt road experts. They prematurely sand the streets (wet). It freezes. SOLID. It’s really unhelpful. They may realize their mistake and sand again, but with three trucks? It could take a while. In the meantime, the cars will mount up on the incline of the bridges, unable to reach the top, and begin sliding BACKWARDS (while spinning out) right into where your car is sitting with cars behind you. See what I am saying? It’s ice bumper cars (I’m talking to you Wisconsin-Pittsburgh Superbowl visitors).
Yes, a master can drive on slick streets, on sanded streets even, but not here. Mkay?
Stay inside. Eat your oatmeal pies. Grab an icicle lollipop, and make some snow cream. It’s Party Snowpocalypse 2011.
And if it gets too much, too cold, too brittle, too dark, too desperate and you run out of oatmeal pies? Just think happy beach thoughts. The power of positive thinking, yes?

Love your photo of the Snowpocalypse from last year. Beautiful! I’m in Colorado and we’re getting pounded with snow right now. It’s supposed to be 2 degrees tomorrow. My driveway is a sheet of ice. Oatmeal pies and chocolate donuts sound about right.

I’m telling you. It’s the BIG ONE! The scariest part is how cold the temps are. Keep that fire burning. And grab you a pie and some donuts! This could be the end. 🙂

I love the BIG HUGE MEGA STORMS, because really. If my commute is gonna suck, and the weather is gonna be dreary and depressing I need an excuse to stop at the liquor store and have some stories to tell my grandkids.
Just please not like your fiction story. That one terrified me, and got me thinking “It could happen”.

oo thats a nice picture of the snow on the trees! i really wanted to take a picture when it just started snowing here. when the trees and everything had a light coat of ice/snow haha kinda hard to explain but it was amazing i wish i had my camera that day but i didnt! and when i went back : < it had snowed too much and it just didnt look the same! i wanted that frosted "fuzzy" look! maybe next year:D

Wow, we’re having weather like this all winter long. This year it started super early in October and we’re counting until the end of March. I hope it won’t get as bad for you!

I hate snow days, mostly because my office hardly ever closes!!! I work in the financial industry and I guess it doesn’t matter if it snows, people still need access to their monies :o/ So even when we have a snowpocalypse, I have to trek out their in the bad weather and tackle the roads.

Makes me miss Dallas. Jason lived there for a couple of years when he was going to school at UNT (and I visited a lot, of course) – and we loved, loved, loved being around snow. It’s so much more than we see in Austin.

My first winter in Chicago was “The Blizzard of ’79.” That year, Chi had a total of 96 inches of snow for the season. I was from Atlanta, where 4 inches was considered a blizzard. I was really freaked. I got used to it, though, but there is something always disturbing about opening your front door and seeing a wall of snow instead of the sky.
Now I live in Arizona, and we are soooo ready for winter to be over! I know you’re laughing at me, but at least one can take interesting photos of snow scenes!!

I must be sick, because I’m sooooooo looking forward to this blizzard! 10-20 inches are forecast and I’m hoping it’s closer to 20. I went to the store yesterday and made sure I bought milk, bread and wine. You should have seen it though – it was a mad house there, you’d think the world was coming to an end!
