The Captures of a New Family

I am very blessed.

I get to experience the joys of a side business. Some days, those joys knock the sweet stuff right out of my socks.

Photography. My hobby. My side business. My obsession.

Angelia’s Photography

Something I squeeze in when I am not working 40+ hours, or doing the million other things I do.

It’s not as much time as I’d prefer. I wish I had a lot more. Give me my camera, a subject, or landscape, and I will be happy. So happy to press that shutter and see what comes out.

I have studied so hard to learn this craft. I’ve taken classes since January. They basically taught me, I have no idea what I’m doing I have a long way to go, or maybe I’m just too much of a perfectionist (and probably always will be).

No matter how you look at it, every once in a while, the stars align and I get this chance.

A chance to witness something beautiful.

For me, it was taking Baby Ava’s first newborn photographs.

Born to a co-worker of mine, she came into this world on Labor Day (har, har – good one Ava!), weighing 8lbs 1oz, and wrapped in that precious aura of wonder.

I don’t have a fancy studio (just my house), but we did what we could to capture her before she is all grown up.

I present to you, Miss Ava, the first baby born to her parents, Bobby and Laura.

Ava Wakes up

She is truly a little cooing angel.

A sleeping Angel

Or a sleeping angel.

Basket Baby

Or maybe just a very beautiful baby.

Basket Baby

She did fantastic for an eleven-day old newborn.

A nuturing gift

When she woke up, confused by my big ol’ lens in her face, her Dad gave her a snack.

Which made her super happy and sleepy.

Sleepy dreams

I almost got a smile.

I just adore this new family. They are just precious and it’s wonderful to be part of their history.

New Family

A new life.

Mom & Daughter

A new heart.

New Parents

A new world that beams with adoration for this tiny, tiny little girl.

A protective circle

Like I said, sometimes being a photographer, I get lucky.

Lucky to witness……..something beautiful.

  1. I love that first picture. Did you touch up these photos? She looks like a TV baby. I have never seen a REAL (as in not a model) that looked so perfect. I mean I’m not around babies a lot, the ones I see are on TV so when I see a baby in person and their skin is flaking and they have some kind of crud on them, they are all blotchy and something has puss oozing from it, I am shocked because babies on TV have perfect skin, no flaking, no oozing, no blotches. Did you put make-up on this baby? She looks perfect.

    1. Terre- HA! Love your description of new babies. LOL. She is actually about 12 days old. So, they do start looking prettier. I did touch her up a little and the DSLR camera makes everyone look amazing. 🙂
