To insure good health: Eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.
– William Londen
I saw this quote this morning and it fit so much about life that I love.
To be interested.
To be cheerful.
To breathe deep and enjoy what’s all around you.
The beauty of life and the beauty of appreciating life.
Have you looked around lately?
These are probably the last butterflies of the season. I took them at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens on the weekend.
Their light fluttering wings are captivating.
The season, the effect, and the delicacy of their life cycle is something to truly appreciate.
I wish you a happy weekend. I wish you joy.
And mostly I wish for you to cultivate cheerfulness today and always.
Love, love, love the quote. The butterfly photos are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

We have a monstrous butterfly bush outside the picture window in the living room. I get distracted by butterflies all the time. And there was a hummingbird a few weeks ago that really caught me off guard. Had not seen one in a long time, and there it was, about 2 feet away. Flittered away before I could get the camera out though.

Wow, great words and great pics. Your post is a reminder, to me, to enjoy the simple things. As Chicago is enjoying an early fall heatwave, I’m doing just that. Have a great weekend!

Did God make butterflies in a feeble attempt to get us to forgive Him for making flies, mosquitoes, gnats, ticks and roaches? Well butterflies are romantically beautiful but I ain’t forgiving Him.

Gorgeous shots Angelia. I saw what was probably one of the last Monarchs of the season in my yard the other day and did take the time to appreciate it. They are wondrous.

Yes, I always look around. I enjoy the “wild life” in my backyard. The simple pleasure of watching a dragonfly “stumble” through the air, a squirrel eating a peanut, a bird chirping . . .I appreciate it.
These photos are amazing!

Beautiful photos! Sadly, all of the butterflies have left our area for the year. I look forward to their return in the spring.
