What is bokeh you say? Well, it’s pretty simple. It’s a photography thing.
Main Entry: bokeh
Part of Speech: n
Definition: a Japanese term for the subjective aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photographic image.
Or in my terms – the blur circles. They look like orbs, and who doesn’t like orbs? Especially if they are colorful and pretty. Ohhhh!
And right now, holiday bokeh is hot. Lots of lights at Christmas which make the most beautiful orbs. This is my first year knowledgeable of my camera and all it’s manual settings. This is my first year to play with the bokeh (and the first year I know what bokeh is).
And now you know too. Win!
Oh..….how I love the bokeh.
Snowman bokeh.
Snowman disco bokeh. Heh!
Winter Bear bokeh.
Pretty Angel bokeh.
Anna bokeh.
Salem bokeh.
I’ll use any model I can.
How fun is da bokeh?
I like the bokah. You did a great job capturing the essence of bokah. It’s fun to say too. Bokah bokah bokah. 🙂

Incredible, Angelia. What a impressive thing you did! Not only the bokah’s are so well taken but the dogs looks so good and the little statues seem to be alive!!

I think statues are the best models. 🙂 Thanks Ellen!

What a fun post! I love that my eyes have been opened up to bokeh — it’s sure a fun element of pictures.

Yes! I agree. I remember last year the only bokeh I found was the reflection of the tree in a window. Now….it’s everywhere I want it to be. Fun stuff!

It’s not in the picture, but he is holding his own little teddy too. Awh!

She is such a good dog. She sat, stayed, and looked at me when I asked. Ha! She is up there in years….she just wanted to lay down.

HAVE SEEN COOL STUFF WITH SUBJECT OUT OF FOCUS AND BACKGROUND IN FOCUS. FUN TO EXPERIMENT.

True! It is fun to experiment. Lots of ways to do different stuff in photography.

Awesome, even though Salem looks less than delighted by your enthusiasm!

Seriously, she laid down and I made her get up. She was not happy! Lol!

I really like bokehs. I think they’re my favorite type of pic.
When I first read the definition of a bokeh, I thought I can do that…except I usually end up with the wrong part of the photo out of focus.

I didn’t do so well with it until I learned all the manual settings. Sometimes cameras have a mind of their own! 🙂

Is there a bokey setting on the camera?
Cause how in the hell did you do that masterfully.
Beautiful

*Bokeh…I’ve got fat fingers on the iPod…sigh

LOL! I like that. Bokey is cuuuute…..
No setting that I know of, it really comes down to what kind of lens is being used. It needs to be one with a large aperture (if that makes any sense!).

When you tell people you love Bokeh, do they look at you strangely? As if they see blurry dots around your face, a type of halo? I shall have to see if I can find some Bokeh. Meanwhile, I wish you much Bokeh happiness this season!
LikeLike
No, but bokeh around my head in a halo would be SO COOL! I wish I could turn something like that on over the holdiays and walk around spreading holiday cheer (and bokeh). 🙂 I hope your wish is granted! Thank-you!!

Love these….another good place for bokah is the county fair at night with all the lights from the rides and booths. I’m glad to learn the term for it.
