Also known as Fort Worth, Texas. This is the home of the Fort Worth Stockyards featuring the twice daily Texas Longhorn cattle drive.
I found myself here last Saturday with a group of photographers. We had a meet and greet to talk photography and “shoot” some sights.
And sights we did see.
Coming here is like visiting the Old West. You do step back to another time, and another era. You are transported to the dusty days of the cowboy.

It was nice to meet up with friends, new and old, to capture the fun of a great little place called Cowtown. My first two photos are of the Stockyards Riverwalk. I had no idea there was a Riverwalk. Score! on discovering new places. And living so close to a fantastic place rich in history and tradition.
I love the colours and the animals. It looks like you stepepd back in time!

What are calf fries?
Why is that everywhere in Texas has a Riverwalk? And by everywhere I mean here and San Antonio. I’ve never seen Riverwalks anywhere else.

Ahh…the stockyards. I’ve been there once when we lived there. Took my mother-in-law and the cowboy pinched her butt when helping her up into a saddle.

You did such a great job of catching the flavor of the place! I have one question: is cowboy #1 riding a mule, or is it just the angle of the ears that makes it appear so?

Wow, you weren’t kidding about the cows 🙂 My favorite shot is the shoe shine spot. your town looks lovely, I’ve actually always wanted to go there, I once met someone from Fort Worth (can’t recall her name) at training for the cpa firm I used to work with and she was the most down to earth gal.

The photograph of Cowboy in the 8th photo reminds me of an old cigarette advertising, Marlboro man.
