Weekly Photo Challenge: Light

So many things to say about light.

Light of the world.

Light of my life.

Warm, bright, and cheerful.

So many ways to interpret light.

Observing, feeling, and seeking.

Light evokes emotions, thoughts, and desires.

Light lives, breathes, and dies.

But why say anything about light when you can see it’s brilliance in so many ways……..

Street Lights
A simple street lamp. A star.

Heart Light
A glowing heart. Love.

Neon Sign
A neon sign. A beacon of hospitality satisfying and full. Comfort in a dark night.

Sydney
A gentle glimpse of soft light in shadow.

Lake Marble Falls
Flowing action. Fluid movement. The wind chases the light. The light chases the day.

A static charge in a dark sky. To light the path in happy colors.

Illumination. A simple beauty in color and style.

Golden Reflection
A golden path. A hazy hillside bathed in heaven’s reflection.

Lake Sunset
Sunset. The last breath of sun. The end of a dying day. A sigh. A whisper. A goodnight.

Glorious light fitted with so many shades and tones. Can you feel it?

I think light is contagious and it’s thrilling to share it in this weekly photo challenge from The Daily Post at WordPress.

May light shine in and around you today, and always. Happy Monday!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

Spring.

It’s in the air.

Vibrant colors desperate for notice.

Creatures great and small.

Taking in the beauty of a new season.

Ok not really…….I made her lay down and pose…believe me she would have rather been eating the tall grass behind the next flower.

But where was I?

Ahhh! Beauty.

Spring has sprung.

Joyful and bright.

Sharing her glory for all to see.

And smell.

For all my fellow allergy sufferers, can I get an A-CHOOO? Yeah, not so fun.

But soooo pretty!

The true sign of spring arrival here in Texas. The Texas BlueBonnets.

They are a staple of our spring landscape. They bring excitement, allure, and pride. Plus, many picture-taking opportunities on highway embankments and fields.

I heard this year they may not be all that.

Well……..I’ll let you be the judge.

Happy Spring everyone!

How are you celebrating?

The Eyes of the Soul

Her eyes, her eyes….
Make the stars look like they’re not shining…
She’s so beautiful and I tell her every day (excerpt from Bruno Mars-Just the Way you Are).

A child’s eyes are more than just pretty peepers. They capture the innocence of the world in their gaze. The wonder, and the delight of learning, discovering, and becoming the grown-up they will one day be. All of the universe is a dash away from their grasp. It’s in their eyes where a child’s spirit radiates their joy and their heart. Laughter pours out unchecked. It fills the air with sparkles, and amazement. They fly from one place to the next because their liveliness can’t be grounded. And their eyes……their eyes………shine. Do you remember those days? What if you were to capture it?

The Paper Mama

This is my entry for The Paper Mama photo challenge. It was hard to choose between the three beautiful girls I have at home – all of them – with the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen, but this picture spoke to my childhood soul. That soul wants to soar. Catch me if you can…..
