Spring.

It’s in the air.

Vibrant colors desperate for notice.

Creatures great and small.

Taking in the beauty of a new season.

Ok not really…….I made her lay down and pose…believe me she would have rather been eating the tall grass behind the next flower.

But where was I?

Ahhh! Beauty.

Spring has sprung.

Joyful and bright.

Sharing her glory for all to see.

And smell.

For all my fellow allergy sufferers, can I get an A-CHOOO? Yeah, not so fun.

But soooo pretty!

The true sign of spring arrival here in Texas. The Texas BlueBonnets.

They are a staple of our spring landscape. They bring excitement, allure, and pride. Plus, many picture-taking opportunities on highway embankments and fields.

I heard this year they may not be all that.

Well……..I’ll let you be the judge.

Super Secret Project Revealed

Well, it happened.

We pulled it off. A surprise birthday party for Jason’s mom (Happy Birthday Mom!).

She thought we had all forgot. No party, no grandkids, no handsome sons.

No presents, no cake.

Boy was she ever wrong – because this family? – knows how to party.

Surprise!

The best gift of all? HER. Being with us. Second best? We had already gotten together on the sly for her birthday present.

~~A gift of photographs.~~ A gift of love (and photographs) for a woman who doesn’t just teach about love, but lives it, and passed it on to her family.

She showed us all the power of family when we met in those hospital waiting rooms praying with all our heart for her healing. She showed us the power of strength when she emerged from intensive care and knew her families faces and names after a brain aneurysm leak and a stroke on top of it. Then she showed us the power of miracles because she is still with us today. Walking, talking, and loving us all.

She tells the story of Jesus sitting with her during her dark days of a coma and encouraging her to go back and tell her family she loves them.

Never mind that we already knew that. Her story touches many, many hearts. Even the printers were moved by it.

I am intensely proud to be part of this family, it’s not just strength of it, but the compassion and care that drives it. And Sue? Is the best driver I know.

Happy Birthday to my sweet mother-in-law. We are SO glad you are here to celebrate.

She tells us to tell our kids we love them every day. The grandkids wanted her to know…………tell your grandma too.

Lots of love shared on this day.

Most of the grandkids are seeing their photographs for the first time.

Lots of birthday hugs for Grandma.

I love her joy (and her hair is sooo cute!).

She passed her love down through the generations. To a stunning group of children. I have no doubt these kids will continue to honor love with their future families just as she has.

What a special day and celebration of a beautiful woman inside and out.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Cloudy with a Chance of Chili

Because the weatherman predicted SNOW. Snow in North Central Texas.

Snow is rare. Snow is a miracle. We get excited over snow. Really excited!

So, this is how my day started.

Roaring Fire — Cold Temps hit Texas igniting a fire of warmth.

The chilly 30’s. A nice warm fire. Pretty glowing colors of orange toasting tootsies sporting purple fuzzy socks.

Ahh, winter. Finally!

Then it got better.

Award Winning Chili — Jason's famous winning chili

Jason made us chili. His chili cook-off winning chili (the mild kid-friendly version). Yum!

Then?

Big fat chunks of SNOW, yes SNOW, came falling from the sky. Just like they said!

Snow! Snow! It’s snowing!!! It’s snowing!!

But it wasn’t sticking. AT. ALL.

Finally it started to stick, so I’d have proof!

If you squint, you can see it. Keep looking. It’s there…..squint…..there. Did you see it?

I swear a few moments later. The snow stopped failing. What was there, faded away; leaving a hydrated landscape sans the snowflakes.

Boo snow. Boo.

Supposedly, we will get sleet tonight. Now, that sounds more like Texas weather. Fierce ice chips hurling down to pelt and burn. Then, a nice, dangerous commute skating on black ice and playing bumper cars.

Plus, there is a 100% chance of leftover chili. Oh yeaaah!

i Heart Faces Photo Challenge

I entered a photo contest before.

Once.

I totally choked, hence, the once.

It was on best eyes and I used a B&W picture.

:awkward silence:

It’s okay, you can laugh, chuckle, or chort. I have. I had many vibrant images. Many eyes framed perfectly to pop, but did I use them? No.

I’m just a ~~total rebel~~ little rusty at this photo stuff.

But if you ~~fail~~ fall, get back up, right?!?

So, I am joining in a new photo challenge on iheartfaces. I added the entry to my pages at the top.

This was very hard to choose. I was going back and forth on several different ones of my daughters Sydney, Bridget, and Molly. In the end, I picked this one from my family of faith shoot. It’s my friend Kristin’s daughter. It is the real deal. Unedited. Just simply a great shot with gorgeous colors and natural expression. She is an adorable girl and terrific model.

I think I went the safer route on this challenge. I chose the best photo that fit what most everyone else submitted.
