Weekly Photo Challenge: Family

Jason taught his daughters Chess this weekend.

He is incredibly patient.

Incredibly kind.

And an incredibly good teacher.

They played for quite some time (considering their young ages).

Games (real games) teach children so many things about interaction.

About how to win….. and how to lose.

And how to know the difference.

There are two lasting bequests we can give our children. One is roots. The other is wings. ~Hodding Carter, Jr.

Your post brought back memories … my father taught me to play chess when I was 10 years old. Lovely interpretation of this week’s photo challenge theme!

  3. Oooo black and white = awesome! I’ve never learned how to play chess and I’m impressed your girls played for a good amount of time. I’ve always loved playing games with my dad 🙂 Love that quote too. I’m a sucker for awesome quotes.
