Stuck in the 70’s

I was born in the 70’s.

My Dad listened to the 60’s & 70’s my entire life. I can remember banging on the door to his house and unable to be louder than the music he had blaring….70’s Music.

But that was back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, and Dad passed a couple of years ago.

His favorite music is still going strong.

I got Sirius Satellite Radio in the KIA Soul I drive. The stereo sounds Ah-mazing. Those hamsters have a reason for dancing!

And I happened upon this station.

Station 7 of the 70’s.

And it reminds me of my dad (who I miss!).

I hear the music, and I picture his house, and his room. I see him nodding his head to the beat.

And now, I can’t seem to turn the station. The 70’s blast through my speakers and it moves me in so many ways.

From Barry White to ABBA to Led Zepplin. I can’t get enough.

I am in love with this decade where I’m pretty sure I boogied my little legs off.

Me in the 70’s

I totally look like I could get down.

So that’s where I was then and where I am now………I tend to go through genres every few months. I’ve been through the 80’s, 90’s, 2K, Christian, Pop, Heavy Metal, and Disney.

But right now, I’ll just go with station 7 and shake my groove thing around town.

I’m sure I’ll move on grow up eventually.

Just let me have my fun for now, mkay? Then, I’ll pass the fever to my daughter. Ha!

What’s your favorite beat right now? Do you tend to move through genres?

  1. Just found your blog as part of NaBloPoMo on BlogHer. I enjoyed it. Congrats on getting this post in under the wire. Mine is in too, at 11:45pm. Good luck the rest of the month. Good night.

  2. I love all genres of music, BUT being born in ’61, I kinda tend to selfishly refer the music of the 60’s and 70’s “My Music”. LOL I listen to playlists that I’ve created at different music sites while I’m blogging/surfing. Or, some live streaming radio channels. Classic rock, most of the time… of course. :~)

  3. I have CDs in my car’s CD player that have probably been there for about eight years. Maroon 5’s Songs About Jane is one, then there is Blue October and Fallout Boy. The second I heard “Dance, Dance” and “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” I had to have the album. That’s been in my machine since I got it, but I don’t remember when that was. I also have Anna Nalick in there, her album came out in 2005 and I think I might have had it that long. I listen to Nia music a lot because it takes me so long to learn a routine I have to play the music over and over and over and over. And obviously I am good with listening to the same thing over and over since I have had the same CDs in my car for almost eight years. I have a 6 CD Machine so I do sometimes swap out one or two. So you are stuck in a decade and I am stuck on specific CDs. I do turn on the radio every once in a while, but I usually find myself pressing “CD” when the commercials come on.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that picture of you. Too cute. And Syd is always a great subject.
